MEXT Minister Masahito Moriyama visited NIMS
Dr. Masahito Moriyama, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) visited NIMS (Sengen and Namiki sites) on January 18th.

First, President Dr. Hono gave an overview of NIMS, and they discussed the importance of both the various basic research that NIMS has been conducting for many years and the materials R&D for the hydrogen society of the future.
Afterwards, at Sengen site, NIMS researchers presented their research activities of “Vibration damper unit”, “Spintronics devices”, and “Heat-resistant superalloys” to the delegation. Then, at Namiki site, they visited research facilities of “SiAlON phosphors” and “NIMS Battery Research Platform and Smart Laboratory”.
Ms. Mizue Shiomi, Director-General, Research Promotion Bureau, MEXT and Ms. Hiroko Takuma, Director, Materials Science and Nanotechnology Division, Research Promotion Bureau, MEXT accompanied the delegation.
