NIMS has established International Research Centers such as MANA, GREEN, and CMI2, to grapple with problem-solving type research projects sponsored by the government and various other institutions, and Joint Research Centers for close promotion of joint research on technical problems proposed by private companies, and is actively engaged in outcome-oriented research.
