The official website of NIMS aims to comply with the web content accessibility guidelines set out in Japanese Industrial Standard JIS X 8341-3:2016 "Guidelines for consideration of elderly and disabled people - Equipment, software, and services for information and communication - Part 3: Web content". We are committed to ensuring and improving accessibility on our website.

The NIMS official website (referring to the content provided under the www.nims.go.jp domain).
However, in fiscal year 2021, only pages created and published using our content management system (CMS) within the following directories will be covered. Other pages will be addressed from fiscal 2022 onwards.

Note: The term ‘compliance’ in this web accessibility policy follows the notation specified by Web Content JIS X 8341-3:2016 Compatibility Guidelines, March 2016 Edition, established by the Information and Communication Accessibility Infrastructure Committee of the Japan Information Technology Standards Commission. Compliance for the following pages, including those already published, is difficult to achieve, so they do not meet the above objectives. We plan to consider measures to meet the goal of compliance in the future. If you have any questions about the content of the pages in question, please contact us. We will respond to the best of our ability.

The criteria that cannot be met are as follows:

• 1.2.2 Captions (pre-recorded) Level A
• 1.2.3 Audio Description or Alternative Content for Media (pre-recorded) Level A
• 1.2.4 Captions (live) Level AA
• 1.2.5 Audio Description (pre-recorded) Level AA

Regarding subtitles, we have strived to provide them using speech recognition functions as much as possible, but since we cannot guarantee the results, we consider the criteria to be unfulfilled.

Based on Annex JB of JIS X 8341-3:2016, we publish the results of tests conducted to determine accessibility status.
