| Work Description | As an ICYS PI at NIMS, you will independently advance research based on your original ideas, managing your own small research unit and utilizing NIMS's state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated research assistants. You will develop internationally recognized, original research areas across a wide spectrum of materials science—including quantum, battery, magnetic, structural, organic, bio-related, and other advanced materials, as well as data science. |

| Contract Renewal Criteria / Maximum Employment Period | * The maximum employment period is 5 years. Please note that this is based on the current Working Regulations, and may be subject to future changes in accordance with organizational policy. * If the applicant is already in NIMS as a non-permanent researcher (Postdoc), the maximum contract term depends on work experience at NIMS. |

| Work Hours | 7 hours and 45 minutes per day, 5 days a week *When the discretionary labor system is applied, the deemed working hours are 8 hours and 15 minutes per day. |
| Holiday | Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, New Year holidays, annual paid leave and other holidays as stipulated in the Working Regulations. |
| Salary / Supply | Annual salary : 8,000,000 JPY/year ~* (including social insurance premiums and taxes ) *To be determined in accordance with the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees. *Fixed Overtime Pay : Fixed overtime pay is included in the monthly salary. *Reference: Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees (PDF:Japanese) *Commuting Allowance: Commuting allowance is provided (with limits). *Technical Assistants and Postdoctoral Researchers : Technical assistans and postdoctral (for a maximum of three years) may be assigned, subject to review. |
| Trial Period | Two months from the start date of employment |
| Insurance | Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Worker’s Accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirements. |
