Request for Permission to Use the NIMS Name for Co-Sponsorship and Support
Before requesting permission from NIMS to use our name for co-sponsorship, support, or other purposes, please read Co-Sponsorship and Support Name Handling Regulations available at the link below. Then complete the specified form, attach the required documents, and submit to the address below.

(Criteria for permission to be given)
Article 3: Permission Criteria
1. The use of the Institute’s name for Cosponsorship shall be permitted only when an Organization hosts any of the undertakings listed below.
2. The Organization hosting the undertaking must fall under any of the following items:
(1) National government organ
(2) Local government or its organ
(3) Educational and research institute or a federation of such institutes
(4) Academic body
(5) Public interest corporation or equivalent body (excluding religious corporations and equivalent bodies)
(6) Any Other entity the President deems appropriate
3. The undertaking hosted by the Organization must fall under any of the following items:
(1) It contributes to spread and awareness of basic research and fundamental research and development relating to materials science.
(2) The host organization has an administrative organization to host the event and is capable of securing the necessary funds.
(3) A plan to hold the event has been developed, and the operation method of the event is fair.
(4) Adequate safety and public health measures are taken to implement the event.
(5) Its primary purpose is not making profit, and there is no risk of being used for publicity of any specific Organization.
(6) It does not include any event clearly tinged with the characteristics of a specific religion.

Article 4: Assistance of Undertaking
1. Unless the president finds it especially necessary, the Institute shall not provide any economic assistance to the undertaking.
2. If the president finds it especially necessary under the preceding paragraph, and the Institute provides money or any other form of economic assistance, the share of expenses with other organizations shall be clearly identified.

Article 5: Application for Permission
The representative of an Organization desiring to use the Institute’s name (hereinafter referred to as the “Applicant”) shall submit an Application for Permission of Name Use (annex 1) to the Institute accompanied by the following documents to obtain the permission of the Institute:
(1) Articles of incorporation, regulations of society
(2) List of officers
(3) Documents for the implementation of the undertaking (including an implementation plan and a proposal for income and expenditure budget for the undertaking)
(4) Other necessary documents
