NIMS is Japan’s only national research and development institute specializing in materials science. Our researchers have authored numerous specialist books in various fields, ranging from the principles and theories of materials research to recent application examples. All are published by our partner publisher, Springer.
Overview of the NIMS Monographs series
The NIMS Monographs series is a collection of specialist books authored by NIMS researchers. The books, published by Springer, focus on everything from principles and theories to recent examples of the application of materials research. The series is overseen by an editorial board chaired by Naoki Ohashi, Director of the Functional Materials Research Center, and comprising several NIMS researchers working in a wide range of materials science fields. The board work together to ensure the content and expertise of all books in the monograph are characteristic of NIMS. Since 2014, 13 volumes have been published to date.
We will continue publishing attractive titles that cover the past, present, and future of materials research at NIMS.
