NIMS researchers presented at SAT Technology Showcase 2025

The 24th SAT Technology Showcase 2025 was held at the Tsukuba International Congress Center on Thursday, January 23, 2025. This year, 150 poster presentations were performed, exceeding the number of presentations made last year.

From NIMS, Dr. Takashi TSUCHIYA , Group Leader of Neuromorphic Devices Group, Research Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA), gave a presentation on “AI devices using the spatiotemporal dynamics of ions, electrons and spins” on behalf of the organization, as a “Featured Research Presentation from Tsukuba” that is expected to be implemented in society in the near future, as well as six other general poster presentations.

In addition, at the special symposium, hosted by the Public Works Research Institute as cooperating organization, Dr. Koichi TSUCHIYA, Director of International Center for Young Scientists (ICYS) gave a lecture entitled “Infrastructure x Materials Science : Seeing the Nano World within Infrastructure”, and answered the questions from high school students in a considerate manner at the subsequent panel discussion.

Among all registered presentations, the presentation titled "High Oxygen Reaction Acceleration Technology to Solve the Problem of Steel Corrosion in Concrete" by Dr. Kotaro DOI, Senior Researcher of Corrosion and Protection Group, Research Center for Structural Materials(RCSM) won the Grand Prize for the “Infrastructure x Interdisciplinary Innovation Award”, and a certificate was presented by the Vice President of the Tsukuba Science Academy (SAT). Congratulations on receiving the award!

The Technology Showcase aims to provide a venue for new encounters and inspiration for researchers and R&D engineers, as well as business and government officials. It is hoped that this opportunitiy will lead to new developments in R&D field.
