NIMS Establishes Joint Research Center with National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan

NIMS has concluded an agreement for the establishment of a Joint Research Center with National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan.
On May 29, 2026, Prof. Ta-Jen Yen, Senior Vice President, and Prof. Hsiang-Yu Wang, Associate Vice President for Global Affairs of NTHU, Taiwan, visited NIMS to attend the signing ceremony for the establishment of a Joint Research Center. During the visit, the delegation exchanged opinions with NIMS President Kazuhiro Hono on future collaborations and took a laboratory tour at Sengen and Namiki sites.

NIMS and NTHU have been strengthening their collaboration through joint research and personnel exchange activities. In December 2013, the two institutions concluded an agreement for the International Cooperative Graduate Program (ICGP). The establishment of the Joint Research Center is expected to further enhance research exchanges, particularly through frameworks such as the ICGP and the NIMS Internship Program, and to promote and expand international collaborative research.
