Job Summary
 Atomistic simulation analyses on the structure and mechanical properties of metals.
Scope of Job Description Changes Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee’s position.
Qualification
The applicant should (or is expected to) have a Ph.D. degree in the field of materials science, mechanics, or related areas.
The applicant should have an experience in atomistic simulations (such as molecular dynamics or first-principles calculations) and be interested in metals.
We are welcome a researcher, who can actively discuss and work together with collaborators.
Starting Date February 1st, 2025, or later (negotiable)
Term Initially one year, renewable up to five years based on annual evaluation
Contract Renewal Criteria / Maximum Employment Period Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors.
Work Place National Institute for Materials Science, Sengen site (Tsukuba-city, Ibaraki)
Scope of Work Location Changes The scope of the change of place of work shall be limited to each of the Employer’s site, as well as other locations separately approved by the Employer.
Work Hours 7 hours 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week
* Deemed working hours when the discretionary labor system is applied are 8 hours and 15 minutes per day.
Holiday Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, New Year Holidays, annual paid leave and other holidays as stipulated in the Working Regulations.
Salary / Supply
Supply followed by NIMS regulations. Commuting allowance will also be covered.
Trial Period Two months from the start date of employment
Insurance Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Worker’s Accident Compensation Insurance.
