We are opening the 2023 call for proposals for Subtheme C "Creation of a Materials Unicorn Reserve" as part of the third phase of the Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) "Building an Ecosystem for Materials Commercialization Innovation and Development".

    About the interview selection meeting

    The interview selection meeting is scheduled for August 3, 2023 (Thursday).
    Applicants are asked to ensure their availability.

    Note: The meeting will be held in person and in-person attendance of the Principal Investigator and Startup Entrepreneur Candidates is mandatory. The meeting time will be communicated individually to those undergoing the interview process. Please note that we cannot accommodate schedule adjustments. The venue will be in the vicinity of Tokyo Station.

Subtheme C "Creation of a Materials Unicorn Reserve" individual theme (1): Support for the Creation of a Materials Unicorn Reserve

Call for proposals period

May 1, 2023 (Monday) until noon on June 16, 2023 (Friday) (strict deadline)

Size and number of expected grants for contracted research

For each project, the initial year's commissioned research funds (including indirect costs) are approximately 100 to 300 million yen, with about five projects expected to be selected.

Research and development period

Starting in fiscal year 2023 and lasting for a maximum of three fiscal years.
