| Term | Initially one year, renewable up to five years based on annual evaluation |
| Contract Renewal Criteria / Maximum Employment Period | Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors. The maximum employment period shall not exceed five (5) years. This may be subject to change because of amendments to the Working Regulations. |

| Scope of Work Location Changes | In addition to NIMS offices in Tsukuba, any other locations depending on research progress |
| Work Hours | 7 hours 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week *Deemed working hours when the discretionary labor system is applied are 8 hours and 15 minutes per day. |
| Holiday | Saturday, Sunday, and national holidays, in addition to paid leave. |
| Salary / Supply | According to NIMS regulations: experience-related; likely in range 3,800,000 - 5,000,000 JPY gross p.a.. Commuting allowance and national insurance are also included followed by NIMS regulations. Commuting allowance will also be covered. Deemed overtime allowance included in monthly salary(Article 13-2 of the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees) |

| Insurance | National Public Service Mutual Aid Association Insurance short-term benefits (health insurance), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance, and Workers' Accident Compensation Insurance are available (these insurances will be enrolled provided, however, that conditions of employment meet the requirements) |
