Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Magnetic Recording

Fixed Term:Research Center for Magnetic and Spintronic Materials (CMSM), Magnetic Recording Materials Group

#Fixed Term#Researcher
Field or Position Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Magnetic Recording
Number of Positions 1
Affiliation Magnetic Recording Materials Group
Research Center for Magnetic and Spintronic Materials (CMSM)
Work Description
This project aims to demonstrate new recording principles using ferroelectric and multiferroic materials. Thin films will be fabricated by sputtering, and their magnetic and electrical properties will be systematically controlled and characterized. By correlating these properties with microstructural observations, the underlying mechanisms governing property emergence will be elucidated. The obtained insights will be fed back into the fabrication process to develop high-performance thin films.
Background on thin film fabrication, magnetism and magnetic materials, ferroelectric materials and their electrical characterization is required. Experiences on the sputtering and/or microstructure characterization by TEM are desirable. The candidate must have a strong motivation in learning TEM observation.
Scope of Work Description Change Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee’s position.
Qualification
  • Ph.D. in materials science, applied physics or physics
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write about research in English.
  • Knowledge of magnetism and magnetic materials. Basicknowledge of magnetism, experience in characterizingmagnetic properties, and experience in TEM observation are desirable.
