Advance notice for the fiscal year 2023 Call for Proposals under Subtheme C "Creation of a Materials Unicorn Reserve"

As part of the third phase of the Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) "Building a Material Commercialization Innovation and Training Ecosystem", we are planning to open the fiscal year 2023 call for proposals for Subtheme C "Creation of a Materials Unicorn Reserve".

Subtheme C "Creation of a Materials Unicorn Reserve", individual theme (1): Support for the Creation of a Materials Unicorn Reserve

Proposal submission period

From the opening date until noon on June 16, 2023 (strict deadline).

Size and number of expected grants for contracted research

For each research development project, the initial year's contract research funding (including indirect costs) is expected to be between 100 and 300 million yen, with approximately five projects expected to be selected.

Research and development period

Starting in fiscal year 2023 and lasting for up to three years.

Briefing session for the call for proposals

We plan to hold briefing sessions related to this call for proposals in two venues, Tokyo and Osaka. Details on how to apply will be posted later.
