Research Summary “Synthesis Process and Thermal Property Evaluation of Silica Insulation Material”
This project aims at development of refined material and process for the next-generation insulation products through fundamental research. Primarily, analysis of porous structures and evaluation of thermal conductivity properties are carried out, while developing analytical methods for thermal conductivity mechanisms and establishing continuous synthesis technology.
Qualification
  • A person with Ph.D. (or expected to obtain one soon).
  • Knowledge and experience in synthetic chemistry, colloidal science are desirable.
  • Sufficient experiences in microstructural analysis using FIB, EBSD, and TEM, as well as particle size distribution evaluation.
  • Prior experience in optimizing chemical synthesis processes and evaluating heat transfer mechanisms in mesoporous materials is desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Enthusiastic researchers who actively foster collaboration and engage in meanful discussions with the companies, universities, and domestic research institutions involved are welcomed.
Starting Date As soon as possible (negotiable)
Term 1 year (Extension is possible depending on his/her performance and budget)
Work Place National Institute for Materials Science, Sengen site (Tsukuba-city, Ibaraki)
Work Hours 7 hours 45minute (08:30-17:15) a day (negotiable as the flex-time system)
Holiday Saturday, Sunday, and National Holidays
Salary / Supply In accordance with the NIMS fixed-term employment guidelines, salary will be determine, taking into account age and experience. Eligible commuting allowance and social insurance will also be provided.
Trial Period We set probationary period by NIMS regulations
Insurance Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Worker's accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirements.
