Work Description	Research on the synthesis of new nanosheets and development of liquid crystals
Scope of Work Description Change	Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee’s position.
Qualification	PhD (or candidate) in chemistry, materials science or related research field Skill in synthesis of nanosheets Research experience in liquid crystal or structural color of two-dimensional materials
Starting Date	April 1st 2026 or after
Term	6 months from the date of appointment
Contract Renewal Criteria / Maximum Employment Period	Extension should be dependent upon the budget condition, possibly up to 3 Years with evaluation
Work Place	National Institute for Materials Science, Namiki-Site (Tsukuba City, Ibaraki)
Scope of Work Location Changes	The scope of the change of place of work shall be limited to each of the Employer’s site, as well as other locations separately approved by the Employer.
Work Hours	7 hours 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week (negotiable as the flex-time system) Deemed working hours when the discretionary labor system is applied are 8 hours and 15 minutes per day.
Holiday	Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, New Year Holidays, annual paid leave and other holidays as stipulated in the Working Regulations.
Salary / Supply	Monthly salary 344,860yen ~ Supply followed by NIMS regulations. Commuting allowance and national insurance will also be covered. Deemed overtime allowance included in monthly salary(Article 13-2 of the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees)
Trial Period	Two months from the start date of employment
Insurance	Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Workers’ accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirements.
