Work Description	Development of observation techniques and analysis methods using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) Analysis and evaluation on materials using TEM
Scope of Work Description Change	Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee’s position.
Qualification	The applicant should (or is expected to) have a Ph.D. degree in the field of science or engineering. It is preferable for a candidate to have a knowledge and experience below: Transmission electron microscopy techniques & hardware Programming Machine learning We welcome motivated researchers who can solve problems putting their original ideas for researches.
Starting Date	1st September, 2025 or later (negotiable)
Term	1 year (renewable depending on the performance)
Contract Renewal Criteria / Maximum Employment Period	Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors. The maximum employment period shall not exceed 5 years. This may be subject to change because of amendments to the Working Regulations.
Work Place	Sengen Site, National Institute for Materials Science, Tsukuba, Ibaraki
Scope of Work Location Changes	The scope of the change of place of work shall be limited to each of the Employer’s site, as well as other locations separately approved by the Employer.
Work Hours	7 hours 45minutes (08:30-17:15) a day (negotiable as the flex-time system) Deemed working hours when the discretionary labor system is applied are 8 hours and 15 minutes per day.
Holiday	Saturdays, Sundays, and National Holidays, New Year Holidays, annual paid leave and other holidays as stipulated in the Working Regulations.
Salary / Supply	Monthly salary 344,860yen ~489,920yen (To be determined in accordance with the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees) *Fixed overtime pay included in monthly salary(Article 10, item 3 of the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees).
Trial Period	Two months from the start date of employment
Insurance	Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance, and Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirements.
