Work Description	Preparation and property investigations of supramolecular nanofilms of functional materials and biomaterials
Scope of Work Description Change	Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee’s position.
Qualification	Applicant should (or is expected to) have a Ph.D. degree in the field of chemistry. Material synthesis (required) Applicant should have a sufficient communication skill either in Japanese or English.
Starting Date	October 1st, 2025 or later
Term	Initially 1 year, renewable up to five years based on annual evaluation
Contract Renewal Criteria / Maximum Employment Period	Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors. The maximum employment period shall not exceed five years. This may be subject to change because of amendments to the Working Regulations.
Work Place	National Institute for Materials Science, Namiki-Site (Tsukuba City, Ibaraki)
Scope of Work Location Changes	The scope of the change of place of work shall be limited to each of the Employer’s site, as well as other locations separately approved by the Employer.
Work Hours	7 hours 45 minutes a day, or Discretionary labor system Deemed working hours when the discretionary labor system is applied are 8 hours and 15 minutes per day.
Holiday	Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, New Year holidays, annual paid leave, and other holidays as stipulated in the NIMS Regulations
Salary / Supply	Monthly salary 376,380 yen Fixed overtime pay included in monthly salary (Article 10, item 3 of the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees)
Trial Period	Two months from the start date of employment
Insurance	Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance, and Workers' Accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirements.
