Job Summary
Preparation of functional thin films, especially ultra-thin ion exchange membranes. Evaluation of their structure-property relationships and their performance in applications of RED power generation and others. Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee’s position.

Qualification
Postdoctoral Researchers, those who have received a PhD degree or will receive it.
Starting Date From April 2025 (negotiable)
Term One year
Contract Renewal Criteria / Maximum Employment Period Renewal is possible depending on an evaluation until September 30st 2025.
Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors. The maximum employment period shall not exceed five (5) years. This may be subject to change because of amendments to the Working Regulations.
Work Place National Institute for Materials Science, Namiki-site (Tsukuba city, Ibaraki)
Scope of Work Location Changes In addition to the organization's regional offices, any other locations authorized by the organization
Work Hours 7 hours 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week
*Deemed working hours when the discretionary labor system is applied are 8 hours and 15 minutes per day.
Holiday Saturday, Sunday, and National Holidays
Salary / Supply
Followed by NIMS regulations. Commutation allowance and national insurance are also provided.
Trial Period Two months from the start date of employment
Insurance Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirement.
