Job Summary	Development of environmental (mainly liquid environment) high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and related technologies, and application research thereof.
Scope of Job Description Changes	Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee’s position.
Qualification	The applicant should (or is expected to) have a Ph.D. degree in the field of science or engineering. It is expected that applicants have sufficient experiences of transmission electron microscopy. The applicant should be enthusiastic about developing new techniques. The applicant should have good communication skills to communicate within the group.
Starting Date	January 1st, 2025, or later (negotiable)
Term	1 year. (Extension may be possible up to March 31st, 2027)
Contract Renewal Criteria / Maximum Employment Period	Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors.
Work Place	National Institute for Materials Science, Sengen-Site (Tsukuba City, Ibaraki)
Scope of Work Location Changes	The scope of the change of place of work shall be limited to each of the Employer’s site, as well as other locations separately approved by the Employer.
Work Hours	7 hours 45 minutes a day, or Discretionary labor system Deemed working hours when the discretionary labor system is applied are 8 hours and 15 minutes per day.
Holiday	Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, New Year holidays, annual paid leave, and other holidays as stipulated in the NIMS Regulations
Salary / Supply	According to NIMS regulations. Commuting allowance and national insurance are also included. Fixed overtime pay included in monthly salary (Article 10, item 3 of the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees)
Trial Period	Two months from the start date of employment
Insurance	Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance, and Workers' Accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirements.
