Research Summary |
Elucidation of bioelectron transfer mechanisms through electrochemical experiments using microorganisms
Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee’s position. |
Qualification |
- Candidates should have a PhD or expect to receive the degree by the start of the employment.
- Experience in research using electrochemistry and microbiology with strong analytical background preferred.
- Sufficient English language ability for communication with staff and collaborators.

Term |
one year (renewable with annual evaluation)
・Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors. ・The maximum employment period shall not exceed five (5) years. This may be subject to change because of amendments to the Working Regulations. |
Work Place |
National Institute for Materials Science, Namiki-Site (Tsukuba City, Ibaraki) The scope of the change of place of work shall be limited to each of the Employer’s site, as well as other locations separately approved by the Employer. |
Work Hours |
7 hours 45 minutes a day (negotiable as the flex-time system) |
Holiday |
Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, New Year Holidays, annual paid leave and other holidays as stipulated in the Working Regulations. |
Salary / Supply |
Monthly salary 317,570 yen ~ (To be determined in accordance with the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees) *Fixed overtime pay included in monthly salary (Article 10, item 3 of the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees) |
Trial Period |
2 months from the start date of employment |
Insurance |
Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Worker’s Accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirements. |
