Research Summary The postdoctoral researcher is expected to study material science by using machine learning and ab-initio simulation.
Qualification
  1. Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree or expect to receive it by the start of employment.
  2. Candidates with a background in materials science, physics, spintronics and/or computational science with programming skills are eligible.
  3. They would preferably have experience using ab-initio software such as AkaiKKR, SPRKKR, VASP and QuantumEspresso.
  4. Candidate is expected to be able to communicate about research in Japanese or English and be willing to work with co-researchers to carry out research.
Starting Date As early as possible
Term 1 year (renewable for a second year by mutual agreement)
Work Place National Institute for Materials Science, Namiki site (Tsukuba City, Ibaraki prefecture, Japan)
Work Hours 7 hours 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week (discretionary work system, in which case deemed working hours are 8 hours 15 minutes per day)
Holiday Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and other regulations of the Organization
Salary / Supply
  • Determine based on experience and skills based on the fixed-term staff salary rules of the Organization.
  • Commuting allowance available (payment conditions, upper limit available)
  • Supply followed by NIMS regulations. National Insurance is included.
Trial Period We set a probationary period.
Insurance Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Workers’ accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirements.
