Research Summary The successful candidate will work on on-surface chemistry with high-resolution atomic force microscope/scanning tunneling microscope system, operating in ultra-high vacuum at low temperature.
Qualification The applicant must have or expect to obtain the Dr. / PhD degree. I am looking for a highly motivated scientist with a strong background in Surface Science, Materials Science, engineering or Chemistry. On-surface chemistry is one of the most attractive topics since functionalized nano-structures can be fabricated via the bottom up approach with small precursor molecules. The research will be conducted with high-resolution atomic force microscopy/scanning tunneling microscopy, operating at 4K in ultra-high vacuum condition, which will be set up by the candidate and the host researcher.
