Research Summary
  • The Yamauchi Materials Space Tectonics JST-ERATO project invite applications for one postdoctoral researcher in the fields of Additive Manufacturing, Supramolecular Chemistry, and/or Electrochemistry.
  • The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary and multinational team of organic/physical chemists and material scientists with full access to advanced research facilities at NIMS (Japan) and JST-ERATO-based tools at The University of Queensland (Australia), Waseda and Nagoya University (Japan). The project involves leveraging self-assembly at all length scales to create a new class of conductive porous materials for applications in energy generation/storage and as structural materials.
Qualification
  • Ph.D. in Physics, Material Science, Engineering or related field in the last 5-years.
  • Candidate is independent but can work in a team and has the patience and ability to explain complex ideas in English to colleagues with a range of backgrounds. 
  • The candidate should be ambitious and have the drive to create original ideas that lead to top-level research. We are particularly interested in candidates with some practical background in 3D printing and additive manufacturing.

Work Place National Institute for Materials Science, Namiki-Site (Tsukuba City, Ibaraki)
Work Hours 7 hrs 45 min a day (negotiable as the flex-time system)
Holiday Saturday, Sunday, and National Holidays
Salary / Supply Supply followed by NIMS regulations. Commuting allowance and national insurance will also be covered.
