On October 7th 2014, the good news had reached NIMS. Blue LED research had won the Nobel Prize in Physics.

News about the blue LED is widely known from the media.
First red, then green, and lastly blue, the 3 colors of light.
With this last realization, white light can now be produced.

However, with later scientific advancements, other than large-scale monitors for use in streets and other special purposes, there is no usage of 3 color LEDs to show the color white.

Now, used all around us, white color LEDs are made from single blue LEDs. How is this possible?
