During the lab tour,
Dr. Toru Hara (Director of the Electron Microscopy Analysis Station) introduced the advantages of NIMS's microstructure analysis equipment and research topics using NIMS’s TEM.
Then,
Dr. Shigeki Kawai (Group leader of the Nano-probe Group) introduced his cutting-edge research on nanocarbon materials using a high-resolution scanning probe microscope, and
Dr.Keisuke Sagisaka (Principal Researcher) and
Dr. Shunsuke Yoshizawa (Senior Researcher) introduced their advanced materials research topics using low temperature and high magnetic field scanning tunneling microscopes at their laboratory.
After the above-mentioned lab tour, an overview of NIMS was given by
Dr. Tomonobu Nakayama (Director of Global Networking Division), and short speech was given by Deep Tech Canada member on the expectation for collaboration with NIMS at conference room #2 of the Central Building in Sengen campus.
