2013.06.10 Update

On 7th June 2013, the signing ceremony of the Letter of Intent(LOI) for the creation of a joint lab among National Institute of Materials Science(NIMS),Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique(CNRS) and Saint Gobain was held at the French Embassy in Tokyo, with attendance of Prof. Sukekatsu USHIODA (NIMS president), Mr.Francois X. LIENHART (President of Saint Gobain KK), and Prof. Alain FUCHS, president of CNRS. NIMS and CNRS renewed the CCA (Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement) in May 2012. Also, NIMS and Saint-Gobain signed the COE (Center of Excellence) Agreement in June 2010. And, CNRS and Saint-Gobain renewed the MCA (Master Collaboration Agreement) in November 2012. The present LOI among the three major organizations of Japn and France, will ceratinly promote the development of advanced materials science and technology.
