The NIMS Library seminar provides a session for writing for academic success is a basic writing skill, with a focus on grammar and basic principles of organizing articles and books. The session is consisting of lectures, review of exercises, editing practice and a brief touch of journal selecting and publishing trend. The lectures are given by experts in editing and reviewing in academic publishing. All researchers and librarians who wish to learn efficient and effective English writing and publishing trends are welcome.

'Successful Scientific Publishing - articles and books'

Outline: Current landscape in scientific publishing. It will outline the steps involved in submitting a journal article, including peer review, and give practical guidance on ensuring that the article is accepted. It will also cover the procedure for publishing a book, from the preparation of an effective proposal through to acceptance and publication.

Outline:In the past twenty years, journal publishing has evolved from being a print-based medium to one of predominantly digital delivery. More recently, new approaches, such as open access, have further changed how scientists communicate in some disciplines. This session will give an overview of these developments, and provide an opportunity to discuss how they affect today's researchers.
