KOSEN students receiving awards for outstanding presentations at the 1st KOSEN Research International Symposium visited NIMS.

The 1st KOSEN Research International Symposium (KRIS) was held at Hitotsubashi Hall on 1st (Wed) to 2nd (Thu) March 2023 to disseminate the results of "social implementation research", which is best at the KOSEN, to the global society.

Seven NIMS researchers gave invited talks at KRIS. Also, the director of the International Collaborations and Public Relations division and other staff member examined the student outstanding presentation award at the symposium site.

On the afternoon of 7th and 8th August, in accordance with NIMS Open House 2023, KOSEN students (from Kochi KOSEN, Fukui KOSEN, Anan KOSEN and Kumamoto KOSEN) who received award for the student outstanding presentation and their supervisors were invited to a meeting with NIMS engineers/ researchers and conducted Labo-tour of NIMS laboratories, with a view to strengthening future collaboration.

Dr. Genki YOSHIKAWA and tested the function of the odor sensor.

Although the students were from regular course (2 students) and the two-year advanced course (two students) of KOSEN, the appearance of students aged from 20 to 22 years old actively asking questions and engaging in discussions with NIMS researchers in all the laboratories gave us a strong impression of the future of these young engineers, who will lead the next generation and be active in global society.

Through such initiatives, it is expected that excellent young engineers will continue to be fostered in the near future by the tie with the KOSEN is further strengthened.
