Explosion-Proof Operando X-ray CT Imaging
By combining a transmission imaging system that employs high-flux X-rays with high penetrating power exceeding 200 keV (white beam) with an explosion-proof chamber, we have established a testing environment capable of measuring unsafe behavior in commercial batteries in situ. X-ray imaging synchronized with electrochemical conditions such as charge–discharge cycling and temperature control visualizes internal structural changes and abnormal behavior, thereby advancing both safety evaluation and the elucidation of degradation mechanisms.
