How to Use the Protocols

The basic procedure for protocol use is as follows:

flow of utilization: 1 Submit the application form 2 Internal review by the ABC office and the team leader responsible for the relevant protocol 3 The office contacts the applicant 4 A meeting is held among the applicant, the ABC office, and the team leader responsible for the relevant protocol to discuss the details (scope of work, cost, schedule, etc.) and to determine feasibility and the appropriate usage scheme 5 Technical Consultation or Collaborative Research or Decision not to proceed 6 Start of protocol use after contract finalization

If you wish to use the protocols or would like to consult with us regarding their use, please fill out the required information in the application form and submit it. The ABC office will contact you in return.

Supplementary Information

・ Protocol use is available in two types : technical consultation and collaborative research. Costs arise from the use of NIMS (or other institutions’) equipment/software and operator labor. Fees vary depending on equipment scale, duration, and usage scheme. As a guideline, collaborative research typically requires around 3 million JPY or more per work unit*.
*：A unit may range from less than one week to several sessions over six months, depending on complexity.

・ Please note that immediate support may not always be possible due to researcher, operator, or machine‑time availability.
