NIMS shuttle bus service is available from Tsukuba Station.
After getting off at Tsukuba station (Tsukuba Express) to get to MANA (Namik site of NIMS), the NIMS shuttle bus are available. Take the NIMS shuttle bus at "Bus stop #B" to get to MANA.

The Procedure for Entering NIMS Campas
Visitors to NIMS MANA are requested to complete the reception procedures upon arrival. Please note that the reception process may differ depending on the area, so be sure to follow the specific guidelines for each region.
For external visitors, in addition to the Visitor Form 1, the hosting staff member from the respective organization must complete the pre-registration process. We kindly ask that you contact the relevant staff at the intended visit location in advance to inform them of your visit and request assistance with the necessary procedures.

Procedures for Visits
Step 1
Beforehand please download Visitor Registration Form 1, and fill in the form where double lined.
*The Visitor Form 1 can be downloaded via the button above from the Procedure for Entering to NIMS.
* Please refer to the area map to confirm which area you will be entering.
Step 2
Please print it out and bring it to the Guard Office when visiting NIMS.
Form 1 is also available at the Guard Office.
Step 3
Please show your ID (e.g. driver's license, passport, etc. ) at the Guard Office.
In principle, you cannot enter NIMS without showing your ID.
Step 4
The Guards will check your Visitor Registration Form 1 and they will give you a Visitor Card.(and a Parking Permit to those who come by vehicle)
Step 5
Please return the visitor card (and the Parking Permit) to the Guard Office or put it in the box for returning the Visitor Card at the entrance of the central building when leaving NIMS.
Access to MANA
It takes 10 minutes by bus from the Tsukuba Center (bus terminal), which is located close to the Tsukuba Station exit on the Tsukuba Express (TX)
- Take the Kantō Railway bus bound for "Arakawaoki Station" and get off at "National Institute for Materials Science (Namiki 1-chome)". It is a 1-minute walk from the bus stop.
- The NIMS shuttle bus stops in front of the Collaborative Research Building on the premises.

It takes 20 minutes by bus from the Arakawaoki Station
- Take the Kantō Railway bus bound for “Tsukuba Center" and get off at "National Institute for Materials Science (Namiki 1-chome)". It is a 1-minute walk from the bus stop.
Information for those using the highway bus or airport bus.
Highway buses from Tokyo Station and airport buses from Narita and Haneda airports operate towards Tsukuba. For more details, please check the websites of the respective bus operators.
