Photonics Nano-Engineering Group
Electromagnetic waves can be confined and changes its nature flexibly in nanometer to atomic-scale if we appropriately chose the optical characteristics and surface nanostructures of materials. Photonics Nano-Engineering group focuses on the study of novel functionalities originating from interfacial electronic/vibronic excitations and photonic properties in nanometer-scale systems. The Laboratory is designed for the fabrication and characterization of materials and nano-architectures for utilizing the spectral resourse and energy of the solar light and thermal radiation from various materials. We also educate students in condensed matter physics for PhD course in collaboration with Hokkaido University.
