"Frontiers in Two-Dimensional Materials" will be held at at the Auditorium of the WPI-MANA Building (The NAMIKI Site), NIMS. on October 7, 2026.
This workshop offers a platform to share recent advances in the crystal growth and physical properties of two-dimensional materials, as well as their device applications. It encourages interdisciplinary discussion that ranges from fundamental science to real-world applications.
This year, we will welcome four invited speakers who are conducting cutting-edge research in areas including theories of moiré superlattices, crystal growth of high-quality two-dimensional materials, local manipulation and control of atomically thin materials, and two-dimensional semiconductor devices. The workshop will also feature poster presentations covering a broad range of topics, including crystal growth, structural and defect characterization, optical and electronic properties, quantum phenomena, and device applications of two-dimensional materials. A poster award program will further encourage early-career researchers to share their achievements and engage with the broader research community.
By bringing together researchers working in theory, materials synthesis, measurement, physical-property characterization, and device research, the workshop aims to promote the exchange of knowledge across disciplinary boundaries and create opportunities for new research directions and collaborations.
