Research Summary |
Experimental research on thermoelectric properties of inorganic compounds and/or TEG module development
Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee’s position. |
Qualification |
The applicant should (or is expected to) have a Ph.D. degree in the field of material science or physics. We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with good skills of synthesis & processing of inorganic, intermetallic compounds, or hybrid materials, expertise in thermoelectric and thermal measurements and data analysis and/or having experience in TEG module development. |

Term |
1 Year
Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors. The maximum employment period shall not exceed five (5) years. This may be subject to change because of amendments to the Working Regulations. |
Work Place |
National Institute for Materials Science, Tsukuba
The scope of the change of place of work shall be limited to each of the Employer’s site, as well as other locations separately approved by the Employer. |
Work Hours |
7 hours 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week (discretionary work system, in which case deemed working hours are 8 hours 15 minutes per day) |
Holiday |
Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and other regulations of the Organization |
Salary / Supply |
Followed by NIMS regulations. Commuting allowance and national insurance are also included. Fixed overtime pay included in monthly salary (Article 10, item 3 of the Salary Regulations for Fixed Term Employees) |
Trial Period |
We set a probationary period by NIMS regulations. |
Insurance |
Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Workers’ accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirements. |
