The 2nd CSIRO-NIMS Symposium "Materials and Technologies for Life Science Applications" was held at the auditorium in the WPI-MANA building for 2 days on March 19 (Tue) and 20 (Wed), 2019. The symposium was held as a joint symposium with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) and NIMS, with the support of the Australia-Japan Foundation (AJF) in 2018.

While the global market for medical equipment is expected to expand with the global increase of aging population, NIMS and CSIRO hold a symposium aimed at joint research of biomaterials toward industrialization, and lively exchanges of personnel. The first symposium took place on October 22-23, 2018 in CSIRO, Melbourne, Australia.
