CSIRO-NIMS Symposium

SCOPE

A series of CSIRO-NIMS symposia have been organised in order to form a global network encompassing the national research organisations CSIRO and NIMS as well as collaborating companies and Universities, focusing on materials and technologies for life science applications. The 1st symposium was held at CSIRO Manufacturing in Melbourne, Australia last year, and featured speakers from different institutions presenting their current research activities in the area of biomaterials and medical devices, including 6 speakers from NIMS. This symposium was attended by more than 100 participants.

The 2nd symposium will be held at NIMS in Tsukuba, Japan from March 19 – March 20, 2019 and will feature a number of scientists from CSIRO Manufacturing. Furthermore, invited speakers from collaborating Universities and companies will provide an overview over a variety of topics relevant to life science applications, ranging from cosmetic materials to medical devices. In addition to the lectures, participants will have an opportunity to join the banquet on the second day and to interact with the invited speakers who are leading experts in their field of research.
