ARIMにおけるデータの共用 Data Sharing in ARIM
ARIM事業では、全国25の大学・研究機関の先端共用設備を整備・高度化し、全国の産学官の研究者・技術者のみなさまに利用して頂いております。
これと同時に、共用機器等から創出されたデータ等を事業のシステム（RDEシステム）へ登録することとしています。登録によりデータは構造化されるため、複雑なファイル構造をもつデータや多量のデータであっても、すぐに使える形となります。また、データは系統的に蓄積されていきますので、データを登録した同じ研究チームの方が退職・卒業されたとしても、収集されたデータは散逸することなくいつでも確認することができるようになります。
構造化されたデータは、事業参画25機関で共通したデータ形式にそろえたデータセットとして蓄積されます。データ駆動型研究で進展の著しい機械学習などにも、煩わしい前処理などをせずにすぐにご利用いただけます。
事業で定められた一定期間の後に、蓄積されたデータセットは事業が認める第三者へ、原則として有償で共用します。共用は非営利・非商用とし、学術および研究目的に限定することで、日本のマテリアル産業の強化に資することを目的とします。
In the ARIM project, we have enhanced and upgraded advanced shared facilities at 25 universities and research institutions across Japan, making them available to researchers and technicians from academia, industry, and government nationwide. Simultaneously, we require the data generated from these shared equipment to be registered in the project's system (RDE system). Registration structures the data, making even complex or large datasets immediately usable. Additionally, the data is systematically accumulated, ensuring that collected data can always be accessed without loss, even if members of the research team retire or graduate.
The structured data is accumulated as datasets in a common data format across the 25 participating institutions. This enables immediate use in rapidly advancing data-driven research fields like machine learning, without the need for cumbersome preprocessing.
After a certain period specified by the project, the accumulated datasets will be shared with third parties approved by the project, in principle, for a fee. This sharing is intended to be non-profit and non-commercial, limited to academic and research purposes, with the aim of strengthening Japan's materials industry.

データ共用の流れ The flow of data sharing
１．データ登録 Data Registration
データ提供に同意頂いた利用者の方は、共用装置ご利用後に実験データと関連メタデータ※１をRDEシステムへご登録ください。
RDEシステムには利用課題ごとの登録ページと、利用装置の構造化テンプレート※２が用意されています。詳細な登録方法は各装置担当者がご説明いたします。
※１ メタデータ：試料に関する情報や装置から自動で出力されない実験情報等
※２ 装置から得られる生データをデータ構造化するプログラム

Users who agree to provide data are requested to register their experimental data and related metadata*1 in the RDE system after using the shared equipment.
The RDE system provides a registration page for each research project and structured templates*2 for each piece of equipment. Detailed registration instructions will be provided by the equipment managers.
*1 Metadata: Information about the sample and experimental details that are not automatically output by the equipment.
*2 Structured Templates: Programs that structure raw data obtained from the equipment.
Please cooperate with our efforts to improve data quality so that the data you register would be used by as many researchers as possible.

２．エンバーゴ Embargo Period
ご利用の年度の年度末から最大２年間は、エンバーゴ期間となり、データは利用者の研究チームの方だけが利用することができます。
事業スタッフも中身を見ることはできません。
エンバーゴ期間の間、利用で得られたデータを研究発表や特許出願等にご活用下さい。
なお、エンバーゴ期間は申請により１年間延長することが可能です。
非共用期間変更申請についてはこちら
From the end of the fiscal year in which the equipment was used, there is an embargo period of up to two years during which the data can only be used by the user’s research team.
Project staff cannot view the data during this period.
During the embargo period, please utilize the data obtained for research presentations, patent applications, etc. The embargo period can be extended by one year upon request.

３．広域シェア Wide-Area Sharing
エンバーゴ期間が過ぎた後、利用者のみなさまの構造化データはARIM事業内でシェアされます。ARIMデータ利用アカウントを持つ人※３であれば、閲覧や検索ができるようになります。またシェアデータは、原則有償で提供されます。
シェアされた構造化データは第三者への非公開、非教示、非共有を利用条件とし、その目的は非営利・非商用の「学術および研究目的」に限定されます。
利用者のみなさまの構造化データは、ARIMデータポータルサイトにてデータカタログとして広く共用し、マテリアル分野の研究開発に貢献します。データカタログ作成はARIMスタッフが行いますが、作成にあたり必要な事項を入力、修正いただくことが必要な場合があります。データ登録者のみなさまにはご理解・ご協力をお願いいたします。

広域シェアとなったデータのご提供者がご希望の場合、
- 課題番号
- データ登録者の氏名、および連名者の氏名
- データ登録者の組織名、および連名者の氏名
を非表示にすることができます。試料のメタデータなどその他の情報は非表示にはできません。

データ利用約款
After the embargo period ends, the structured data of users will be shared within the ARIM project. Anyone with an ARIM data access account*3 will be able to view and search the data.Additionally, shared data will be provided for a fee in principle.
The shared structured data is subject to conditions of non-disclosure, non-redistribution, and non-sharing with third parties, and its use is limited to non-profit and non-commercial “academic and research purposes”.
If the data provider wishes, the following three items can be hidden for widely shared data. Other information, such as sample metadata, cannot be hidden.
1.Project number
2.Name of the data registrant and co-registrants
3.Organization name of the data registrant and co-registrants
*3 Researchers and technicians certified by domestic academic, industrial, and governmental institutions.

データ利用約款

４．データ中核拠点シェア（ご希望の方のみ） MDPF Sharing（Applicants only）
広域シェアのデータのうち、主データを論文等で公知化がされており、かつデータ提供者が希望の場合は、データをNIMSのデータ中核拠点でオープンシェア※３することができます。
