Research Summary A post doc position on the development of Sm-Fe based permanent magnetic thin film and their magnetic and structural characterization for high performance. Background on magnetism and magnetic materials is required. Experiences on thin film processing and magnetic measurements are desirable. The candidate must have a strong motivation in learning microstructure characterization by transmission electron microscopy.

Duties are subject to change within the scope of the Employee’s position.
Qualification Ph.D. in materials science, applied physics or physics
Starting Date May 2024 (negotiable)
Term one year

Renewal of the contract will be determined based on work performance, work attitude, progress of the work engaged in, workload at the end of the contract period, budget situation, and other factors. The maximum employment period shall not exceed five (5) years. This may be subject to change because of amendments to the Working Regulations.
Work Place NIMS Sengen site (Tsukuba, Japan)

The scope of the change of place of work shall be limited to each of the Employer’s site, as well as other locations separately approved by the Employer.
Work Hours 7 hours 45 minutes a day (negotiable as the flex-time system)
Break : 12:00-13:00
Holiday Saturday, Sunday and National Holidays
Salary / Supply according to NIMS regulations
Trial Period Two months from the start date of employment
Insurance Health insurance (MEXT Mutual Aid Association), Welfare Pension Insurance, Employment Insurance and Worker’s Accident Compensation Insurance. You will be automatically enrolled in these insurances when working conditions meet the requirements.
