South African Ambassador Visits NIMS

(June 18, 2012) H.E. Dr. Mohau N. Pheko, South African Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan, accompanied by two science and technology staffs of the embassy, made a courtesy visit to NIMS President Prof. Ushioda.

The ambassador is particularly interested in nurturing green technology industries in South Africa, such as sustainable energy, utilizing her rich natural resources and plentiful young population, as a consequence, becoming not necessarily dependent on her natural resources.
For this purpose, the ambassador hopes to enhance technology and personnel exchanges with Japan, and she talked with President Ushioda and two Executive Vice Presidents exchanging information on the present status and future possibility of research collaboration with NIMS.
