Quantum Solid State Materials Group
We aim to develop new materials and generate new functions, with a focus on materials with notable quantum properties. We collaborate with researchers both inside and outside the institute to promote the cultivation of high-quality single crystals, precise analysis of crystal structures, and advanced physical property evaluations. Through these efforts, we will provide new material seeds that contribute to cutting-edge research and development fields such as non-volatile memory, quantum sensors, and micro-energy conversion. Additionally, we are fostering young researchers who will lead material research in Japan by utilizing the collaborative graduate school system between Hokkaido University and NIMS.
