Dr. Takashi Taniguchi, NIMS Fellow, became a member of MANA as of April 1, 2020. He is well known for the high-pressure synthesis of h-BN (hexagonal boron nitride), a key material of nanotechnology. Since his h-BN is the best in the world in its quality, it has been attracting the attention of researchers around the world and contributing to a variety of research on two dimensional materials in the fields of quantum physics and quantum devices.
In MANA, Dr. Taniguchi is the leader of the newly launched Quantum Materials Project of NIMS.
