For those who are interested in our research group
The Semiconductor Nano-Integration Group is seeking postdoctoral researchers (those who have already obtained a Ph.D.) and graduate students (those who wish to pursue graduate studies) to work together on the research and development of next-generation semiconductor integration technologies. At present, it is no exaggeration to say that semiconductor technology development—and the training of the engineers who will sustain it—is a national priority for Japan, with efforts already underway across universities, research institutes, and industry.
Our research group aims to develop next-generation semiconductor nano-integration technologies through two key approaches: establishing integration methods that combine bottom-up crystal growth of semiconductor nanomaterials with top-down microfabrication, and advancing research on novel semiconductor nanomaterials and devices. Regardless of your academic background, if you have an interest in “semiconductors” and are willing not only to devote yourself sincerely to your own research theme, but also to make every effort to study and acquire the necessary skills and techniques, you are most welcome to join us.
Our research group was just established on April 1, 2025. Because we are still a small team, we place great importance on providing careful research guidance, and we are fully committed to supporting the study of semiconductor-related knowledge as well as the technical training necessary for experiments. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me directly at the email address below. For students who wish to join us starting from the master’s program, please note that some graduate schools may impose certain restrictions. Therefore, we encourage you to reach out to us first for further details.

At NIMS, there are numerous surrounding research groups, many of which are led by distinguished specialists in materials science. At the same time, you will also find many colleagues who, like you, have taken their first step toward becoming researchers and engineers here at NIMS. The institute is well equipped with experimental instruments and facilities essential for semiconductor research, making it an excellent environment for young researchers and students.
