Facilities List
The equipment used for research activities at our center encompasses a wide range, including shared equipment at NIMS. This page lists the major equipment owned by our center. For information on other equipment, please visit each group's website.

Fully Automated Ultra-High Vacuum Chamber Cluster Deposition System
This system is a fully automated ultra-high vacuum chamber cluster deposition system operable via PC.

Real-time lock-in 3D infrared heat generation analysis system
This system enables ultrasensitive imaging measurements of thermal responses generated when periodic external stimuli are applied to materials or devices.

Time-resolved magneto-optical Kerr effect (TRMOKE)
The magneto-optical Kerr effect is a phenomenon in which the light polarization changes when light reflects on the surface of a magnetic material, depending on the magnetization state. By applying this, it is possible to observe the magnetization dynamical motion.

Cs-corrected Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope (S/TEM)
The microscope also supports chemical analysis such as EELS (Electron Energy-Loss Spectroscopy), EDS (Energy Dispersive x-ray Spectroscopy) with atomic resolution.

Scanning Electron Microscope
This system focuses on SEM observation (SEM; Scanning Electron Microscope).

Focused Ion Beam
The system combines microfabrication (FIB; Focused Ion Beam) and observation (SEM; Scanning Electron Microscope) capabilities.
