Successful Incorporation of Hydride Anion in a Typical Ferroelectric Material

-High expectations for electrodes of hydrogen fuel cells-

16 Apr, 2012

Dr. Yoshihiro Tsujimoto and Dr. Yoshitaka Matsushita have successfully incorporated a large amount of hydride anions into a typical ferroelectric material, barium titanate, on collaboration with Prof. Hiroshi Kageyama, Kyoto University. The research team also have discovered high efficient hydrogen mobility at around 400 °C as well as electrical conductivity, which makes this new oxyhydride a promising material for electrodes of hydrogen fuel cells operated at middle-low temperature.
