Gaku Imamura, MANA Independent Scientist and his colleagues launched a NIMS-authorized startup "Qception". Imamura is the CEO of the startup.
"Membrane-type Surface stress Sensor: MSS" is a sensor element that can mimic the human sense of smell. It has been jointly developed by Genki Yoshikawa, who is a previous MANA group leader and collaborators. MSS is a versatile, ultra-small, super-high-sensitive sensor element capable of measuring diverse analytes in atmosphere and liquid including odor-causing gas molecules and biomolecules such as DNA and proteins. The company targets to establish the standard of smell sensors and to create a "culture to measure odor".
