Report on the 4th Symposium of the Center for Advanced Battery Collaboration
The 2025 Symposium of the Center for Advanced Battery Collaboration (ABC Symposium) has concluded. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended the event.
The ABC Symposium, held annually in November, marks its fourth time this year. As in the previous year, with the cooperation of the Electrochemical Society of Japan, this symposium has been set as one of the discussion themes at the Battery Symposium. The 66th Battery Symposium in Japan was held in Nagoya over three days from November 18th to 20th, with approximately 3,000 participants from academia and industry. The "COI-NEXT ABC Symposium" was held in Hall C from 1:20 PM to 6:00 PM on the first day, with 14 consecutive presentations covering development and design protocols and fundamental technologies, next-generation batteries, and advanced characterization.
The ABC has designated FY2024 to 2026 as Phase 2, and is considering concrete steps to achieve self-sustaining management. We are preparing to make the R&D acceleration tools we have created available for public use starting next fiscal year. Therefore, each presentation this time was designed to provide an understanding of the latest research progress and technology, leading to future collaborative research and technical collaboration. After Project Leader Kanemura introduced the ABC’s overall concept and the research outlines of each team, the team leaders and researchers presented the specific details of their work. The number of participants increased significantly compared to last year, reaching around 250 to 300. For each presentation, we received questions and valuable comments, leading to lively and active discussions.
We will continue to plan public symposia and workshops in the future. To further clarify the available research outcomes, a 'Protocol Explanation Seminar' is scheduled for spring. Stay updated by visiting our website regularly.
