The workshop has a long history, ever since Karl J. Strnat initiated the series of meetings almost 40 years ago. The objective of the workshop is to bring together scientists and engineers working on rare-earth permanent magnets and their applications, to facilitate exchange of recent results and ideas on topics such as raw materials, resources, processing and properties of rare-earth and future permanent magnets.
