about REPM:
The Rare Earth Permanent Magnet (REPM) Workshop is a biennial event dedicated to advancing the science and technology of rare earth permanent magnets. It highlights the latest developments in the design and application of high-performance magnets for energy-related uses. The workshop encompasses both fundamental materials research conducted in academia and innovations in industrial applications, including motors, generators, and actuators. In addition to technical developments, the workshop will address critical issues related to rare earth resource availability and magnet recycling, with an emphasis on life cycle sustainability. Topics in fundamental research will include cutting-edge computational approaches—such as machine learning and data-driven accelerated materials discovery—novel alloy design strategies, and advanced processing and characterization techniques. The scope also extends to proposals for alternative magnets that do not rely on rare earth elements.
The workshop is planned and organized by the committee members listed below. Each edition is coordinated by a local organizing committee chaired by individuals appointed by the REPM Steering Committee. The meeting and program are developed in consultation with the Steering Committee and the International Advisory Committee.
