Basic and applied researches on new types of
magnetic materials for potential industrial applications.
Magnetic Materials Group carries out basic and applied researches on new types of magnetic materials for potential industrial applications, including rare earth permanent magnets for motors, Heusler alloy half-metallic ferromagnets for magnetic sensor applications, spin gapless semiconductors for novel spintronic devices, and magnetocaloric materials for solid state cooling. The device applicability of newly developed materials is examined by fabricating prototype magnetic sensors for ultrahigh density magnetic recording.
