The fifth WPI Joint Symposium was held at Kyoto University Clock Tower Centennial Hall on December 26th, 2015. The World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI) was launched in 2007 by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to build “globally visible” research centers that boast a remarkable research level and outstanding research environments in Japan. At present, WPI is composed of 9 centers including MANA.

The symposium aims to inform the public of WPI research outcomes. This time MANA joined the symposium with the other eight WPI institutes with the concept of “realizing science”. MANA introduced visitors to “Nanofiber Mesh for Cancer treatment“, and the “NIMS Graduate Research Assistantship” in an exhibition stand. Most of the participants were local high school students and undergraduates from Kyoto University. They all really enjoyed the event.
